Master Marcos’s formal Capoeira qualification and
career background (summary)
Master Marcos dos Santos was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
In 1991 master Marcos was invited to join the London School of Capoeira as one of the directors and teachers. He began studying Capoeira at the age of eight in Natal and in 1984 he formally joined the Associação of Capoeira Senzala of Master Sombra, Santos, São Paulo.
He left the Senzala Academy with the instructor’s belt and was given the Master’s belt in 2006 by Master Sombra at the Riverside Studios Theatre at one of the LSC’s grading ceremonies.
Master Marcos is an exceptional Capoeirista and likes to push participants to reach their personal best. Master Marcos will focus on improving the participants’:
- Flexibility and Strength
- Stamina and Technique combining Capoeira movements with mock-up game, sequences and conditioning exercises.
Master Marcos has Performed for Passo Co at venues including:
- Royal Festival Hall
- The Barbican
- The Pleasance theatre as part of the Edinburgh Festival and many others in the UK
- The Lilian Baylis, Sadler’s Wells Theatre
